In Katonah Yoga, we consider the cycles of the seasons, the cycles of our lives, and metaphors of Great Nature to underpin our practice. These metaphors help us to connect to the world around us; they help us to consider the simplicities and complexities of being human. In our modern world, with the myriad choices and conundrums surrounding us, we might search for means to help us bring significance, certainty, connection, and meaning to our lives. The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is a philosophical approach to constructing, decoding, and understanding the universe. It can help bring insight to the cycles or changes we all go through in our lives.

In this workshop, we'll explore the history and construction of the I Ching, its 8 trigrams and 64 hexagrams. We'll dive into philosophical and critical understandings of the I Ching and how to use it as a guide to orient ourselves, potentially even as a divination tool.
